Worried About Gas Prices? Don't!!

The latest from my favourite false prophet, Kim Clement:

For the Spirit of God says, "There will not be a cash flow problem ever in this house. I am wanting to give hundreds of millions of dollars. And when something goes wrong, I want you, Jubilee, to step up to the plate and say, 'We are not here to condemn, we are here to give bread to the multitudes that have come without any bread.'"....And God says, "Look, I'm giving you a new source of energy that's coming to this Nation. It's very soon that it's going to be discovered." And the Spirit of God says, "I want My people to invest. You will see it appearing by the month of September and October, and you'll say, 'There it is.'" And God says, "Take your money and put it in, for surely the new source of energy will bring billions of dollars within a two-year period upon those that invest in the 'Big E.'" For God says, "Don't you understand that this is something that Einstein saw and will become a practicality and a fact. Listen to Me. You are being setup to become billionaires for My Kingdom, and never forget Me, when you come into the promised land, and remember the Lord your God, for this is He Who speaks and blesses you..."

So relax: Soon you won't have to worry about gas and you'll be independently wealthy! Mind you, he's been saying this for a long time now, but.....

Should We Be Rebuking Sicknesses?

Word of Faith advocates frequently appeal to Luke 4:39, "So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them," to justify rebuking illnesses. However, there are only a limited number of instances in all of Scripture where anything other than people are rebuked. Let's check them out:

2 Sam. 22:16 "The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of breath from his nostrils."

Job 26:11 "The pillars of the heavens quake, aghast at his [God's] rebuke."

Pslam 18:15 "The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils."

Pslam 104:7 "But at your [God's] rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;"

Psalm 106:9 "He [God] rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert."

Isaiah 50:2 "By a mere rebuke I [God] dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst."

Nahum 1:2 "He [God] rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry."

Matthew 8:26 "He replied, 'You of little faith, why are you so afraid?' Then he [Jesus] got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm."

Mark 4:39 "He [Jesus] got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Quiet! Be still!' Then the wind died down and it was completely calm."

Luke 4:39 "So he [Jesus] bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her."

Luke 8:25 "He [Jesus] got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm."

Jude 1:9 "But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, 'The Lord rebuke you!'"

You will notice a few things here.

First of all, for those who hold that in Luke 4:39 Jesus was rebuking a spirit that caused the sickness, if that is the case then one would have to hold that when God rebuked the Red Sea, it was also a demonic spirit, or that the pillars of heaven are a demonic spirit. I don't think that argument can be made. God spoke and the world came into existence and all a rebuke means is that God has control over everything, including illnesses.

Secondly, notice that ONLY God rebuked objects. There are no instances in Scripture of ordinary people rebuking inanimate objects like the sea, illnesses, or the wind.

Thirdly, for the benefit of those who might doubt the Deity of Jesus Christ, notice that in the New Testament Jesus rebuked the wind, the waves and a fever. Jesus IS God.

And lastly, notice in Jude that even the angels will not rebuke Satan, but Michael told Satan that God Himself would rebuke him. What makes people think we have the authority to rebuke Satan or any other demons?

How to Get to Heaven

In today's Los Angeles Times (see link, above) John Hagee says:

"In Christian theology, the first thing that happens when Christ returns to Earth is the judgment of nations," said Hagee, who wears a Jewish prayer shawl when he ministers. "It will have one criterion: How did you treat the Jewish people? Anyone who understands that will want to be on the right side of that question. Those who are anti-Semitic will go to eternal damnation."

Really? All this time I thought it was those who reject Christ's atoning work on the cross who went into eternal damnation. Well, live and learn!

Kim Clement on 6-6-6

Just when I thought the nuts had stayed more-or-less buried when it came to prophesying that something would happen June 6th, 2006, I read a prophecy Clement made May 19th in New York. See link above for entire prophecy:

I heard something right now. Listen to me, Tony, I heard June the 6th. June the 6th a very special something that's going to happen on June the 6th. I'm not talking about a birthday, I'm talking about something that's going to open up. It's so close I can see it, I can feel it, I release it in the Spirit. I release it right now, I release it into this house, upon these people, upon this region. June the 6th something's going to break in the Spirit and release people!

Gosh, I wonder what it was?

William Lane Craig Vs. Bart Ehrman

On March 28, 2006, Dr. Craig, Research Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, California, and Dr. Ehrman, James A. Gray Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, debated the status of the Christian claim to Jesus' resurrection from the perspective of historical data. Mr. Ehrman is not permitting this debate to be made available in audio, but the transcript is online at the Holy Cross website at
